A new co-president has been recruited to the management team at Juicy Couture in order to boost the company's sales.
Owner Liz Claiborne Inc has named David Bassuk as the co-president and chief operating officer of the casual clothing specialist.
He will continue to work for the brand, having been employed as a consultant and will assume responsibility for operations, finance, planning and allocation, e-commerce, wholesale sales and facilities.
Working alongside president and chief creative officer Leann Nealz, he will help to determine the future direction of Juicy Couture when he moves from AlixPartners.
He and Nealz will both report to Liz Claiborne chief executive officer William McComb, who declared: "With LeAnn and Dave at the helm, Juicy Couture is primed to regain its position as one of the most sought after global lifestyle brands."
Nealz added: "Dave and I complement each other perfectly and we have worked very well together over the past few months."
Bassuk has 20 years of experience in the retail industry and extensive fashion knowledge, having previously worked at Kurt Salmon.
Established in Los Angeles, California, Juicy Couture is a fashion apparel and accessories label for women, girls and babies that produces a range of products sold in over 100 dedicated outlets in the US and select department stores, as well as 60 countries around the world.
It was started by two fashion fans and was purchased by Liz Claiborne in 2003, becoming famous for its iconic tracksuits.
The parent company is scheduled to become Fifth & Pacific Companies this May and also owns the Luck Brand Jeans and Kate Space labels, with Juicy Couture its largest subsidiary.
Its Liz Claiborne namesake was sold to JC Penney, prompting the change of title, which is intended to reflect the inspiration the group takes from California and New York, as well as its extensive reach and potential.
